Take care of your skin according to its type. One of the reasons for the early appearance of unpleasant wrinkles is improper facial care. Often times we use cosmetic products that are not suitable for your skin type. Check the prior post as well for glowing skin tips
Dermatologists distinguish several types – normal, dry, oily and mixed (combined).
To determine your skin type yourself, we offer you two tried and true ways:
- Carefully wash the face so that there are no traces of make-up or lotions.
After 2 hours, press a cosmetic napkin to it.
If you notice oily spots on it, then your skin is combinational.
For example If it’s stained all over , you’re oily.
Normal and dry skin do not stain the napkin. - Second option for Skin type can be determined by:
Look in the mirror early in the morning.
If your face is shiny, then you have oily skin.
If the “façade” radiates freshness and cleanliness, then you are lucky – with normal skin.
If you feel tightness or peeling, you have dry skin.
Once you’ve determined your type, you need to know how to maintain it.
Normal skin is a gift from nature.
Caring for normal skin is all about keeping it in that state for as long as possible.
The main thing is not to over dry it! The skin needs cleaning 2 times a day.
After washing in the morning with natural soap, put on toilet water, lotion and, if you have time, herbal decoction. The lotion should have an anti-inflammatory, firming and toning effect. On damp skin, apply the day protective cream to protect it from wind, sun and cold. Even if you don’t leave the house, don’t miss it. Laundry, electrical appliances, steam also have an adverse effect on the skin, drying it out. After 10-15 minutes, absorb the excess cream with a cosmetic napkin.
Its recommended in the evening, the skin should be washed with soap, and then lotion should be applied, and finally, a nutritional cream.
Oily skin – with the most problems
It takes a lot of patience to successfully cover up all her flaws. Oily skin shines from the sebum that the sebaceous glands secrete. If it is not cleaned with cosmetic products, the ingredients of which normalize the work of the sebaceous glands and increase the resistance of the skin, there is a risk of inflammation.

The face is cleaned in the morning and in the evening, and it is good to use cosmetic bran. After this procedure, the skin is rinsed with a decoction of oak bark, horse basil or fennel (2 tablespoons of the herb is boiled in 200 ml of water for 20 minutes).
The washed face is moistened with toilet water, milk or medicinal lotion (from pharmacies).
Oily skin must be moisturized and nourished with creams. A foundation designed for problem skin is used as a base. The medicinal base of its composition soothes and protects against the formation of blackheads and has a slight whitening effect. Oily skin is lightly powdered several times a day – especially the nose and forehead. If blush is used, it should be in a color as close as possible to the natural blush, because unusual tones (strong pink or blue cyclamen) unnecessarily emphasize problem skin.
Along with the specific care, it is necessary to follow a diet. Exclude from the menu fatty food, hot spices. Focus on foods containing B complex vitamins!
Dry skin – tender and vulnerable
Dry skin is pale, tight and not elastic. Therefore, it is most vulnerable to wrinkles – a sign of aging. Often the skin is so thin that the capillaries show through.
Caring for dry skin comes down to hydration and sun protection. In summer and winter, never go outside without a cream with a sun protection factor – at least 15.
Cleanse your face in the morning and in the evening with a cream-mask or toilet milk enriched with vitamins A and E. It’s nice when you get up in the morning and your face is still warm from sleep , before applying the make-up, smear it with honey or the yolk of an egg.
The mask is washed off after 10 minutes, then you put on a day cream, helping it to absorb into the skin with a light patting.
After the procedure, tone with linden blossom decoction. You will prepare the homemade lotion like this: 2 tbsp. linden blossoms are boiled for 20 minutes in 200 ml of water. The decoction is filtered and, after cooling, used. Apply a nourishing cream to the wet skin, and absorb the excess with a napkin after 15-20 minutes.
Women with dry skin should forget about powder, which unpleasantly “gets stuck” in fine lines a few hours after applying it.
Combination skin – most common
The T-zone: forehead, nose and chin, is oily, and the cheeks and neck are dry. That is why we must take care of skin as two types.
You should forget washing with soap and water.
The T-zone should be cleaned with a decoction of oak bark, and the dry area with a decoction of black tea and a little milk.
Rub the face 2-3 times, with a pad dipped in the appropriate tincture. After washing, dry and apply a universal nutritional cream to the oily area.
You can also do the following: apply a cream and a mask for oily skin to the oily areas, and a cream and a mask for dry skin to the dry areas.
Apply the cream every time after washing, and the mask – once a week.
Tired skin
For tired skin, the first signs of aging appear after the age of 35. Attention should be focused on nourishing and moisturizing creams.
In the morning after sleep, clean the face with toilet milk and after 15 minutes apply a cream or smear with cream. After 20 minutes, wash and with quick movements rub the skin with an ice cube. Gradually increase to 5-7 times. Only then apply the cream and absorb the excess after 15 minutes.
For the evening cleansing of the skin, use a decoction of chamomile or linden blossom, diluted with equal amounts of mineral water. After that, wipe the face with tampons soaked in slightly salted water and apply a nourishing cream.
It is applied every time after washing, and masks are applied 2-3 times a week
